Tommy Franklin with his Pat Musi Powered Jerry Bickel prepared Frankiln Motorsports 69 Camaro struck fast and hard at the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod Spring Nationals @ Virginia Motorsports Park 4-12-14, presented by Franklin Electric / Smart Com Home Technology and sponsored by Pat Musi Racing Engines & Robert Hayes Motorsports. Franklin nailed down the number two qualifying spot with an identical 3.812 seconds elapse time same as top qualifier Jason “Hole Shot” Harris with only 3.35 mph separating to two.
Franklin made quick work of EOPM stand out David Campbell in his Robert Hayes Motorsports Prepared 69 Camaro and then set his sites on series front runner “The Northern Assassin” Chris Rini, Franklin went 3.796 @194.63 over Rini’s 3.82 @ 195 for the win, setting up a final round rematch from one week earlier with Jason “Hole Shot” Harris who has laid the smack down on the Pro Nitrous world with back to back 3.7 second passes at over 200mph.
Going into the final round Franklin had hurt the engine having to change a piston and found members from the Harris, and Tutterow teams thrashing to repair the Franklin Machine to give the fans what they came for, the two quickest and fastest Pro Nitrous cars on the planet to duke it out one more time. At the strip it was Tommy “Fast” Franklin taking the victory over Harris with possible the quickest and fastest side by side run in Pro Nitrous history, Franklin posted a career best 3.77 to Harris 3.78 @ 201.07. What a final round in Pro Mod, just proving once again that the EOPM is “just a great place to race”.
The EOPM would like to thank our founder and mentor Stuart Williams who was riding with each and every driver with memorial decals proudly displayed on every car, our sponsors and the Top 8 Qualifiers Jason Harris, Tommy Franklin, Chris Rini, Randy Weatherford, Todd Tutterow, Edward Wilson, David Campbell, Bill Meadows.
